Suspicious Package....

The e-mail boxes of all employees at the Lloyd D. George federal Courthouse in downtown Las Vegas were inundated with a plethora of messages (including numerous forwards of the earlier messages we had already received) this morning updating all interested (and even many who were not interested) as to action being taken by Metro to disarm a "suspicious package" (a.k.a. some poor homeless man's stash of tastefull freemont street escort adds and tablescraps) that had been discovered a few blocks away.

10:21 a.m. -- "Metro has blocked off Seventh Street and Bridger due to a suspicious package (toolbox) found on the steps of the high school (which is on Spring Break)"

10:24 a.m. -- "The bomb squad is en-route and we will keep you informed. Please advise your employees accordingly"

10:44 a.m. -- "Metro has now closed down Sixth Street and this will for the interim restrict vehicular movement in and out of our parking lots."

11:07 a.m. -- "they will explode in place the object – you may hear it in the next two to three minutes."

11:46 -- "Metro has exploded two objects and have determined they did not contain any explosives. Metro plans on breaking down their operation and re-opening the streets within the next 15 to 30 minutes"

I know, I know.... this really isn't a big deal, and it isn't really that funny (unless you have worked in this building for several years and have actually watched 3 other "suspicious packages" of homeless people's unmentionables get remote detonated). I'm sorry...I'll blog about something more exciting next time......

Now......has anyone seen my toolbox full of puppies, kittens, and adorable fluffy baby bunnies?
i could have sworn it was right here......
